The Ghana Police Service has re-arrested 26-year-old TikToker Mahama Aminat, popularly known as “Bawumia Ba,” over an alleged case of offensive conduct.
She has been arraigned before the Accra Circuit Court, where she is facing the charge as police continue their investigations.
According to the Police Service, the re-arrest is part of ongoing investigations into content allegedly linked to the social media personality.
Authorities say the case will proceed through the legal process while further inquiries are conducted.
Mahama Aminat gained public attention on TikTok for her political commentary and social media posts.
She became widely known as “Bawumia Ba” because of her perceived support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Her latest arrest has sparked mixed reactions on social media.
While some users have called for due process to be followed, others are waiting for the outcome of the court proceedings.
The case stems from her initial arrest in May 2026 by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET).
Police alleged that videos circulating on TikTok showed her making insulting remarks about President John Mahama, issuing threats against him and the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, and encouraging others to engage in violent acts.
Following her first court appearance, she was granted bail of GH¢1 million with two sureties.
One of the sureties was required to be a civil servant earning at least GH¢5,000 per month.
As part of her bail conditions, she was also ordered to surrender her passport or Ghana Card to the police and report regularly to investigators.
