Marco Palestra completes Chelsea move in long-term deal

Chelsea have officially announced the signing of Italian midfielder Marco Palestra in a deal reportedly worth more than €55 million, with the player committing his future to the club until June 2032.

The highly rated youngster becomes the latest addition to Chelsea’s squad as the club continues to invest in young talent to build a team capable of competing for major honours in the coming years.

Speaking after the transfer was confirmed, the former Atalanta player, Palestra, expressed his excitement about joining the London club and revealed that Chelsea’s recent success played a major role in his decision.

“Why Chelsea? Well… we are world champions,” he said.

The Italian midfielder added that he had felt a strong connection with the club from the moment Chelsea first showed interest in signing him.

Palestra also praised the quality of players already at the club and highlighted conversations he had with head coach Xabi Alonso, who reportedly outlined his vision for the team and the style of football he wants Chelsea to play.

“We have so many talented players here, a very strong squad, and a manager in Xabi. He spoke to me about how he wants us to play, which is exciting,” the midfielder added.
