Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo has shown that he is comfortable playing in different positions after manager Michael Carrick jokingly suggested that the Cameroon international prefers operating from the left wing.
During a press conference ahead of Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Sabah, Carrick was asked about Mbeumo’s best position. The manager responded with a light-hearted comment, saying the forward “prefers playing on the left.”
Mbeumo, however, quickly offered a different view and explained that he has always been comfortable playing in several attacking positions.
The 27-year-old recalled his time at Troyes, where he was regularly moved around the attack and was able to play on both wings as well as in a central role.
“I’m used to a few positions,” Mbeumo explained, stressing that his main priority is getting on the pitch and contributing to the team.
Mbeumo has already made an impact since joining United, scoring in the club’s recent 2-2 draw against Everton. He has also become part of a new-look attacking group featuring Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha and Marcus Rashford.
