The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced scheduled maintenance activities in the Accra East and Ashanti Regions for Friday, May 8, 2026, as part of its continuous efforts to improve service reliability and enhance the stability of the national grid.

According to advisories released by the power distributor, the outages will begin at 9:00 am in both regions, with durations differing based on the extent of work to be performed at each site.

In the Accra East Region, a scheduled maintenance operation will take place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, impacting Ghana Atomic Energy, Ashongman Estate, Ga Municipal Hospital, and nearby areas. The eight-hour outage will affect both residential and institutional sectors, including a significant healthcare facility.

In the Ashanti Region, a scheduled maintenance exercise will occur from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, impacting C.Man Estates, Bebianiha, Asikuma, Meretweso, Nsuiem 1 and 2, Esaase, and adjacent areas.

In its public announcements, the ECG expressed its apologies to all customers affected, recognising the disruption that such technical interventions inevitably bring to both domestic and commercial operations.

The company assured the public that these planned activities are essential to guarantee the long-term strength of the power network and to ultimately provide enhanced service to consumers throughout the regions.
