- Firefighters in the Upper West Region have stopped a dangerous blaze that swept through Kabanye in the Wa Municipality, near Mummy’s Kitchen.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded quickly after receiving an emergency alert.
Crews arrived to find flames tearing through the roof of a compound house and extending toward nearby shops.
The structure of the buildings made the situation worse. Without gable walls, the fire easily jumped from one section to another and grew more intense within a short time.
However, firefighters moved in with urgency and used several hose lines to control the flames. A private water tanker joined the effort and helped maintain a steady water supply throughout the operation.
Through teamwork and careful coordination, the crew brought the fire under control and prevented it from spreading to other properties. They later extinguished the blaze completely.
Although the fire caused heavy damage to buildings and belongings, no injuries or deaths were recorded. Authorities have begun investigations to determine what triggered the incident.
