Prempeh Elite Academy will take on Western Region in the first semifinal of the 2026 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship on Friday, October 9, as the race for a place in Sunday’s final intensifies.
The academy side heads into the knockout encounter as one of the tournament’s standout teams after finishing top of Group A with 13 points from five matches.
Their impressive group-stage performance has underlined their consistency and attacking quality, setting up an important test against a Western Region side determined to reach the championship decider.
Prempeh Elite Academy will hope to maintain the form that earned them the top spot in their group, but they face a different challenge against opponents who finished second in Group B behind Brong Ahafo.
Western Region, meanwhile, will be eager to upset their opponents and secure a place in the title match. Their progress to the semifinals offers an opportunity to challenge for the championship after navigating the group stage.
The second semifinal will see Brong Ahafo, who finished top of Group B, face Greater Accra at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
Brong Ahafo will aim to build on their strong group-stage showing, while Greater Accra will be seeking a victory to keep their title ambitions alive.
The winners of both encounters will advance to Sunday’s grand finale at the GFA Technical Centre, where the sixth edition of the competition will reach its conclusion.
