Marcus Rashford has officially brought an end to his time at Spanish giants Barcelona after the club decided against making his loan move permanent.
The England forward confirmed his departure from the Catalan club in an emotional farewell message, expressing gratitude to Barcelona’s players, staff and supporters for making his short stay a memorable experience.
Rashford joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United, with the agreement including an option for the Spanish side to sign him permanently.
However, Barcelona reportedly chose not to activate that clause after assessing their plans for the squad.
In a message shared following his exit, Rashford thanked everyone connected with the club and reflected positively on his time at Camp Nou.
“Extremely grateful to everyone at the club for turning my time here into such a positive and unforgettable experience,” Rashford wrote.
“I have loved every moment and surely will carry those special memories with me. Wishing the club and all the fans the very best of luck and massive success this season,” he added.
The forward also ended his message with Barcelona’s famous phrase, “Visca Barça,” showing his appreciation for the club and its supporters despite his departure.
Rashford’s move to Barcelona came after a difficult period at Manchester United, where his form and relationship with the club had come under scrutiny.
The switch to Spain was viewed as an opportunity for the 26-year-old to rediscover his confidence and return to his best level.
During his spell with Barcelona, Rashford provided attacking options for the team and gained valuable experience in La Liga and European competition.
However, the club’s decision to prioritise other squad-building plans meant a permanent transfer was not pursued.
