Central Region captain Desmond Korlettey continued his outstanding individual performance at the 2026 MTN Elite U-19 Championship after winning his fourth Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of the tournament.
Korlettey was named MVP after producing another impressive display to help Central Region defeat Brong Ahafo Region 3-0 and secure the bronze medal at the competition.
The match was played at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Thursday, September 3, 2026, with the Central Region skipper playing a leading role in his team’s convincing victory.
Korlettey scored twice during the match as Central Region ended their campaign on a high and secured a place on the podium.
His latest individual award adds to what has been a remarkable championship for the young midfielder. He had previously been named MVP after Central Region’s matches against Greater Accra, Northern Region and Upper East Region.
His consistent performances have made him one of the standout players of the tournament, while his leadership has also been important to Central Region’s progress.
