Karim Grusah calls for GFA resignation, urges fans to protest

King Faisal FC bankroller Alhaji Karim Grusah has called on the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to resign or be dissolved, as he criticised the current administration of Ghana football.

Grusah questioned the direction of the sport under GFA President Kurt Okraku and called for immediate changes at the association.

He claimed that some major clubs are reluctant to openly criticise the GFA because of fears that they could face sanctions, including relegation.

“Even now, Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are afraid to speak up because they would be threatened with relegation,” he said.

The veteran football administrator also raised concerns about the state of Ghana’s youth national teams and questioned the process through which players are selected for the Black Stars.

According to Grusah, some players may be overlooked for national team opportunities because of their relationship with individuals within the GFA leadership.

He therefore urged the GFA leadership to step aside before Ghana’s next match, linking a possible change in administration to the country’s prospects of securing qualification.

“Let them resign immediately before we play our next match. I am not a prophet, but if they resign, Ghana will qualify, inshallah,” he stated.
