The report states that the forward made significant sacrifices to help Atlético during their UEFA Champions League campaign, including playing through pain with the aid of injections during the club’s semifinal clash against Arsenal.
Despite his commitment, those close to the player reportedly feel the club failed to show adequate support after he left to join Argentina’s national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
