Ghanaian defender Kojo Peprah Oppong leaves French club OGC Nice for Turkish giants Fenerbahçe after the two clubs reached an agreement over his transfer.
Reports from France indicate that a full agreement has been reached, as the 22-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Istanbul-based club.
The move will mark another major step in Oppong’s growing career in European football. He joined Nice from Swedish side IFK Norrköping in 2025 and quickly established himself in the French club’s first team.
During the 2025/26 season, the centre-back made 39 appearances across all competitions and scored once. His performances attracted interest from several clubs before Fenerbahçe moved to secure his services.
Reports suggest the transfer is worth more than €10 million. Oppong’s development has also been followed closely in Ghana.
The defender earned his first Black Stars call-up in 2025 and went on to establish himself as part of the national team setup.
He was also included in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and featured in the Black Stars’ matches against England and Croatia.
The move to Fenerbahçe has given the young defender an opportunity to compete at one of Turkey’s biggest clubs.
The Turkish side has also secured a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage after defeating Lyon in the qualifying playoffs, increasing the attraction of the move.
