Augustine Boakye continued his fine start to the season in France by scoring for Saint-Étienne in their 2-1 defeat to Dunkerque in Ligue 2.
The forward has now scored in three consecutive league matches and has three goals this season.
In Spain, Iñaki Williams returned to action for Athletic Bilbao and scored in their 1-1 draw with Elche. The goal was his first La Liga goal of the season.
Williams also made his 515th appearance for Athletic, moving into the club’s top five appearance makers.
Ronald Donkor was another Ghanaian to make headlines after scoring the winning goal for the New York Red Bulls. His 89th-minute strike secured a 1-0 victory over Columbus Crew and ended the club’s six-match winless run.
In Austria, Kelvin Boateng scored and provided an assist as Austria Vienna came from behind to beat Austria Lustenau 2-1.
Ibrahim Jabir also came off the bench to score for Kalju in Estonia, while Ibrahim Mustapha found the net for Radnicki Nis in Serbia. Baba Musa scored for Skenderbeu Korça in their 1-1 draw with KF Tirana.
In England, Jordan Ayew made his Sheffield United debut after coming on as a substitute in their 1-0 Championship defeat to Wolves. He played 26 minutes.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku also played an important role in Ipswich Town’s 3-2 win over Crystal Palace, while Antoine Semenyo completed 90 minutes for Manchester City in their 1-0 derby win over Manchester United.
Kwame Poku, meanwhile, played 82 minutes for QPR in their 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion.
