Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has publicly backed interim coach Michael Carrick, saying he deserves full trust and long-term support to continue leading the club.

Speaking in an interview, Casemiro praised Carrick’s work at Manchester United and called for stability around the coaching role as the club continues its rebuilding process.

“In my opinion, Michael Carrick completely deserves to stay as Manchester United coach,” Casemiro said. “He’s a guy who has already demonstrated that he has very good qualities to be a Manchester United coach long term.”

The Brazilian midfielder, who joined United with high expectations and experience from his successful time at Real Madrid, believes Carrick has shown strong leadership and coaching ability since stepping into the role.

“He deserves it, and he deserves the club’s total trust for a project at Manchester United,” Casemiro added. “Since he has arrived, he’s been doing an incredible job and I think that with more time he has everything to be a great manager of Manchester United.”

Casemiro and his coach, Carrick

Carrick, a former Manchester United midfielder himself, has taken charge during a transitional period for the club. His approach has been praised for bringing structure and clearer tactical direction after a period of inconsistency.  Carrick’s tactical structure has resulted in the team to be featured in next season’s Champions League.

Manchester United have struggled in recent seasons to compete for major trophies, leading to frequent managerial changes and uncertainty around the long-term project at Old Trafford.

However, several players within the squad have recently spoken positively about the environment Carrick has helped create.

With the summer approaching, Manchester United’s leadership is expected to make key decisions about the club’s future direction.
