The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has clarified that the current arrangement for the “Other Youth” category in its constituency elections is still in place.
In a statement dated September 12, 2026, and signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC said the decision follows a directive from its National Executive Committee (NEC) to maintain the existing arrangement.
The party explained that Congress could later approve the NEC’s decision to make the “Other Youth” position a second Deputy Constituency Youth Organiser.
If Congress approves the decision, there will be two Deputy Constituency Youth Organisers at the constituency level. The person elected under the “Other Youth” category will have the same rights and privileges as the other Deputy Constituency Youth Organiser.
The NDC has therefore directed all its structures, officers and members to follow the directive during the constituency elections.
The party also appealed to its members and the general public to cooperate with the process to ensure that the elections are transparent, peaceful and credible.
