Two persons have lost their lives in a tragic accident involving a tipper truck at Senchi in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.
The incident took place on Thursday, May 28, in proximity to the Senchi market area when a tipper truck bearing registration number GR 2135-22 reportedly overturned under circumstances that remain unclear.
A combined rescue team from the Police and Fire Service, which arrived first at the scene, confirmed that the two occupants of the vehicle perished instantly.
The accident resulted in significant traffic congestion along the route for several hours. However, the police have since cleared the area, allowing for the resumption of normal vehicular flow.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the crash to ascertain the factors that contributed to the accident.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made to identify the deceased individuals. Their remains have been taken to the mortuary for preservation and further examination.
