Publish Sophia Akuffo’s resignation letter now – Amidu tells govt

Former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu is calling for President Mahama’s administration to publicly disclose the resignation letter of former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo, amid reports of her resignation from the Council of State last year.

He asserts that the government has a duty to provide Ghanaians with complete transparency regarding this issue, particularly since she has allegedly not engaged in Council activities since her resignation.

“The sovereign people of Ghana are entitled to the expectation that government will exhibit the highest degree of probity, accountability and transparency,” Amidu stated.

He contended that the government’s ongoing silence breeds suspicion and could undermine public trust, emphasising that the resignation should not only be acknowledged but also fully revealed for public examination.
