Prof. Denis Aheto appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of UCC

The Governing Council of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has appointed Professor Denis Worlanyo Aheto as the new Vice-Chancellor of the university.

Professor Aheto currently serves as both Acting Vice-Chancellor and Pro Vice-Chancellor. He will officially begin his new role on August 1, 2026.

The university announced the appointment in a notice released by the UCC Council Secretariat after a Special Council Meeting held on May 15, 2026.

According to the statement, the Governing Council approved Professor Aheto’s appointment as the substantive Vice-Chancellor following its deliberations at the meeting.

Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye Esq., who serves as Registrar and Secretary to the Council, signed the announcement on behalf of the university.
