The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance work in the Accra East and Accra West Regions for Monday, May 25, 2026.
This comes as engineers continue to fix network faults that caused power cuts in parts of Tema and Accra West over the weekend.
ECG says the maintenance will start at 9:00 a.m. and will last for eight hours, ending at 5:00 p.m.
The company expects temporary outages during this period as engineers work on the system.
In the Accra East Region, the outage will affect areas such as Katamanso, ECG Quarters, Regimanuel Estate, Bayere, Junction, Dzorwulu Railway, Dzorwulu UBA, and nearby communities.
In the Accra West Region, the maintenance will impact Odawna, Upper Weija, Old Weija, Oblogo, Top Base, Agape, C.P., Maame Nkran, Ablekuma, Winners Chapel, Pentecost Junction, Agbaadzena, Fanmilk, and surrounding areas.
Over the weekend, ECG dealt with several network faults that disrupted power supply.
On Sunday, May 24, 2026, a fault in the Tema network affected Dawhenya, Abbeykope, and nearby communities. Engineers moved in quickly to repair the problem and restore electricity.
Another technical fault on the same day disrupted supply in parts of Accra West, including Mamprobi, Camara, Agbogbloshie, and the Timber Market area.
ECG has apologised to affected customers for the inconvenience caused by both the planned maintenance and the unexpected outages.
The company said its engineers are working to fix all faults and improve stability across the network.
It also explained that the planned maintenance is necessary to strengthen and improve long-term power reliability in the affected regions.
