The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has rejected attempts by some political opponents to take credit for ongoing road and infrastructure projects in the country.
According to him, the current government is more interested in completing unfinished projects to help Ghanaians rather than engaging in political arguments over who started them.
He explained that President John Dramani Mahama’s administration believes national development should continue no matter which government began a project.
Speaking during a road inspection tour in the North East Region, Mr Agbodza said Ghana needs leaders who focus on delivering results instead of constantly arguing about political achievements.
“I have heard some politicians sitting at home, after having eight years in office and doing very little about these issues, now trying to list what they claim to have achieved, while accusing others of taking advantage.
“It does not matter who started what. What matters is completing projects for the benefit of the Ghanaian people.
“If you had eight years and did very little, and now, by the grace of God, President Mahama has been given another opportunity, allow him the space to fix what you were unable to fix within that period,” he said.
The Roads Minister stressed that the government’s priority is to ensure abandoned and delayed projects are completed to improve the lives of citizens across the country.
