A total of 10,833 parcels of narcotic substances have been destroyed at the Koforidua dumping site on the Akwadum road in the Eastern Region in accordance with section 108 of the Narcotics Control Commission Act.
The destruction, overseen by representatives from the Ghana Police Service, the Narcotics Control Commission, the Attorney-General’s Department, and legal counsel for the accused individuals, was carried out following the Court’s orders dated May 5, 2026, in separate narcotics-related cases presented before the Koforidua Circuit Court.
In the matter concerning Ayertey Raphael Wilson and Samuel Tettey, the defendants faced charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of narcotic drugs for trafficking without lawful authority, in violation of Section 23 clause one of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960, Act 29, and Section 37 clause one of the Narcotics Control Commission Act, 2020, Act 1019, along with three additional related charges.
The defendants were ultimately convicted in accordance with a Plea Bargaining Agreement submitted on April 28, 2026.

In compliance with the Court’s directive, 150 sacks of narcotic substances were destroyed.
The evidence included 77 seized sacks of cannabis transported on a truck with registration number GN 993-14 and 74 seized sacks of cannabis carried on a truck with registration number GG 3674-20.
Each sack contained seventy parcels of narcotic substances, resulting in a total of 10,500 narcotic parcels destroyed in that particular case.
In a separate case involving Innocent Klokofi, 333 parcels of cannabis were also destroyed in accordance with the Court’s orders dated May 5, 2026.
