Nana B officially declares bid for NPP National First Vice Chairman

Henry Nana Boakye, widely known as Nana B and the current National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has officially announced his decision to contest for the position of National First Vice Chairman.

In a statement to party executives, elders, patrons and members, Nana B said he is seeking the position because he wants to help rebuild the party and prepare it for victory in the 2028 general elections.

He explained that his 26 years of service to the NPP have given him the knowledge and experience needed to strengthen the party, reconnect with its grassroots and support its efforts to return to government.

“By the grace of God, and after twenty-six (26) years of active service to our party, I believe the experience and lessons I have gained have prepared me to help strengthen our party structures, reconnect with our grassroots and contribute meaningfully to our collective mission of returning the New Patriotic Party to government in 2028,” he said.

Nana B reflected on his long journey in the party, which began in 2000 when he worked as a polling station agent in the then Manhyia Constituency during the general elections.

Since then, he has served in several leadership positions at the constituency, regional, student and national levels.

His leadership roles include serving as TESCON President at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

He also worked as Director of Events and Programmes for the National Youth Wing, National Youth Organiser, and Vice Chairman of the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU).

At the national level, Nana B has been a member of the NPP’s National Communications Team, National Steering Committee, National Executive Committee and National Council.

He also served on the party’s legal team for the 2020 presidential election petition, participated in the 2020 and 2024 national campaign teams, and contributed to the planning committee for the 2025 National Delegates Conference.

According to Nana B, his decision to contest is based on the belief that unity and commitment will help the party regain power in the next general election.

“My aspiration is anchored on the belief that with unity of purpose and renewed determination, we can reposition our party for victory in the 2028 general elections,” he stated.

He ended his message by asking party members to support him with their prayers, guidance and votes as he seeks to become the NPP’s next National First Vice Chairman.
