11-year-old drowns at Adenta Aviation

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has recovered the body of an 11-year-old boy who drowned at Adenta Aviation in the Greater Accra Region.

The victim, identified as Samuel Awalime, was found after firefighters from the Adenta Fire Station carried out a search and recovery operation.

The GNFS said its personnel moved quickly to the scene after receiving reports of the incident and immediately began searching for the child.

The operation, conducted on July 13, was led by DO III Obosu, who worked with officers from other emergency response agencies that joined the rescue effort.

Emergency teams carried out a coordinated search that lasted for several hours before they eventually located and retrieved Samuel’s body.

After the recovery, officials handed the body over to the Adenta Police Division to support investigations into the circumstances surrounding the drowning.

The Fire Service has not yet provided details on how the incident occurred.

Police investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of the tragedy.
