One person has been confirmed dead, while six others sustained injuries following a violent clash between residents of the Damankuniyili and Nyeshie communities in the Sagnarigu Municipality of the Northern Region over a longstanding boundary dispute.
The incident has heightened tensions in the two communities, which are located along the Tamale–Bolgatanga Highway, as residents remain on edge.
It is reported that a joint police and military team was deployed to the area to prevent further violence and ensure the safety of residents.
The deployment is aimed at restoring calm, maintaining law and order, and protecting lives and property while authorities work to contain the situation.
Authorities are also expected to engage leaders of both communities in efforts to resolve the longstanding boundary dispute and prevent a recurrence of the violence.
