A personal aide to the Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda has died following a fatal head-on collision on the Oda–Nkwanta road in the Eastern Region.

The deceased, identified as Kofi Nti, reportedly died on the spot after the vehicle he was travelling in collided with another vehicle during the tragic accident.

The crash is said to have occurred on Saturday, leaving several others injured.

According to reports, the accident involved a Toyota Corolla and a commercial vehicle travelling in opposite directions.

Eyewitnesses said the impact of the collision was severe, causing extensive damage to both vehicles and trapping some occupants.

Emergency responders and residents rushed to the scene to rescue victims, while the injured were transported to nearby health facilities for treatment.

Sources close to the family described Kofi Nti as a dedicated and hardworking aide who played a key role in the MP’s activities within the constituency.

The death has thrown the constituency into mourning, with tributes pouring in from political supporters, friends and residents who knew the deceased.

Police have since begun investigations into the cause of the accident, while road safety concerns continue to grow over increasing crashes on major highways across the country.
