A man, believed to be in his thirties, has been discovered deceased in a manhole located in Overseas, a suburb of Bibiani within the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
The body was found when some masonry workers went to collect water and noticed the lifeless figure inside the open manhole.
The identity of the deceased remains unknown, although eyewitnesses indicate that he is not a resident.
An eyewitness, Stephen Donkor, confirmed that the alarm was raised immediately after the body was spotted, leading to a prompt response from the community.
The Bibiani Police Command was subsequently notified and arrived at the scene to recover the body. Blood was reportedly observed oozing from the nostrils of the deceased during the retrieval process.
The body has since been taken to the Bibiani Government Hospital mortuary for preservation and identification.
Police have stated that investigations have commenced to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.
