The leadership of the Kristo Asafo Mission has denied involvement in alleged burial activities for its founder, Apostle Emeritus Kwadwo Safo, at the Apostle Safo Suaye Centre at Gomoa Mpota.
In a statement, the Mission said it was not part of any funeral rites taking place at the facility and reaffirmed its support for Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.
The church said the Aduana Kotoko Royal Family of Essumeja had secured a court injunction restraining all burial and funeral activities related to the matter and called on the police and national security agencies to enforce the order.
The Mission alleged that there were attempts to access its museum facility without approval and accused security agencies of failing to adequately protect the premises.
It also raised concerns over an alleged plan to use a decoy body for burial, but the claims have not been independently verified.
The church maintained that it would continue to pursue lawful means to ensure what it described as a befitting burial for Apostle Emeritus Kwadwo Safo.
