The Bongo District Assembly has confirmed Madam Diana Asogetarike Ayamga as the new District Chief Executive, following a decisive vote by assembly members. Out of a total of 54 members, 44 voted in favor of her appointment, while 10 voted against.

Madam Ayamga was subsequently sworn into office by the Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugri Atanga.

In her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and confidence shown by the assembly members. She pledged to serve with diligence and integrity, emphasizing her commitment to advancing development across the district.

“In this position as DCE, it is a great responsibility, which I honorably accept, and I promise to lead the district in its development agenda,” she said.

Madam Ayamga also paid tribute to the late former District Chief Executive, Joseph Abaah Akasake, vowing to uphold and build upon his legacy. She assured residents that her administration would continue ongoing projects while introducing new initiatives to improve livelihoods.

“The late Joseph Abaah Akasake initiated some projects in the district before he passed on. With your support, we shall continue the work he left behind while initiating more projects for the benefit of our people.” she added.

Madam Ayamga extended her appreciation to President John Mahama for entrusting her with the role, describing the appointment as both an honor and a responsibility. Highlighting her vision, Madam Ayamga promised to champion the empowerment of women and ensure inclusive governance.

Her confirmation is expected to usher in a renewed focus on progress and unity within the Bongo District.
