GNFS rescues two after fuel tanker overturns in Tamale

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has rescued a fuel tanker driver and his mate after their tanker overturned at Adubili Yili in Tamale.

Firefighters from the Northern Regional Headquarters Sub-Station quickly responded to the incident and found the tanker, which was carrying about 45,000 litres of diesel, overturned with the two men trapped inside.

The firefighters immediately began a rescue operation and successfully freed the driver and his mate.

The two victims were then handed over to the National Ambulance Service for medical attention.

Firefighters also took steps to prevent another fire from breaking out. They cooled the tanker and controlled the diesel that had spilled at the scene.
