GES denies claims that floods swept away WASSCE papers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has refuted a viral statement circulating on social media, which falsely claims that floodwaters have washed away West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) papers, necessitating affected candidates to retake their examinations.

The alleged statement, which has gained significant traction on social media, asserted that heavy rainfall on June 29 resulted in examination papers being swept away, rendering some unavailable for the ongoing examinations.

It further suggested that GES was contemplating a rewrite for the affected papers and would provide a revised examination timetable along with additional details in due course.

Nevertheless, GES has labelled the circulating statement as false and has urged the public to ignore it.

The Service also encouraged the public to verify information prior to sharing it, advising students, parents, and other stakeholders to depend solely on official GES communication channels for updates.
