COKA calls for reconciliation to unite NPP ahead of 2028 elections

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has called on the party’s newly elected national executives to prioritise reconciliation with defeated contestants to strengthen unity ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Odeneho Appiah, popularly known as COKA, said bringing former contestants and their supporters together would help build an inclusive party capable of mounting a strong challenge against the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking to the media after the party’s national delegates conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, he commended efforts to reconcile with those who lost the executive elections.

He urged the new leadership to maintain the spirit of unity as the party prepares for its parliamentary primaries and develops strategies for the next general election campaign.

The conference was held under the theme, “One party, one purpose: United for victory.”

COKA expressed confidence that a united executive team, working alongside the party’s rank and file, would energise supporters and improve the NPP’s chances of returning to power.

He also welcomed the support shown by delegates for the party’s flag bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing it as a sign of a shared commitment to the party’s future.

According to him, the conduct of aspirants and delegates during the conference demonstrated an understanding of the need for cooperation and collective effort.
