Former Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, has said he is confident that former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will become the next President of Ghana.
He said this would happen regardless of opposition from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“If the NDC likes it or not, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will become the President of the Republic,” Dr. Amin Adam said while speaking to residents of Kpukpalga.
He made the remarks after commissioning a modern Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound that he built for the community.
Dr. Amin Adam also criticised the NDC government, accusing it of not fully understanding the needs of ordinary Ghanaians, especially people living in rural farming communities like Kpukpalga.
He said some government proposals, such as building a 24-hour market or introducing a dollar exchange rate arrangement for communities like Kpukpalga, do not reflect the real needs of the people.
He argued that such initiatives could end up wasting public resources because most residents in the area are farmers.
According to him, the government should instead focus on policies that directly support farmers and improve their livelihoods.
Dr. Amin Adam said farmers need fair and reliable prices for their produce, as well as lower prices for farming inputs.
He believes these measures would make farming more profitable and help ensure that agriculture remains sustainable.
