Ghana Water Limited has announced temporary water supply interruptions across various regions of western Accra due to technical difficulties at the Weija Water Treatment Plant.

In a statement issued by Stanley Martey of the Communications Directorate of Ghana Water Limited on May 13, 2026, the company’s management indicated that these challenges have affected water production and distribution to certain communities in the capital.

The statement specified that customers in areas such as Dansoman, Mamprobi, Mataheko, Laterbiokorshie, Korle-Bu, La Paz, MacCarthy Hill, Gbawe, Mallam, Tesano, Darkuman, North Kaneshie, Dome, Achimota, Anyaa, Ablekuma, and nearby communities may face irregular water supply and reduced water pressure.

Management has assured the public that engineers and technical teams are diligently working to address the issue and restore normal supply at the earliest opportunity.

“Management wishes to assure the public that engineers and technical teams of Ghana Water Ltd are working assiduously to rectify the challenges and restore normal water supply as early as practicable,” the statement noted.

In the meantime, consumers have been advised to store water whenever there is a flow in their communities to help manage the temporary disruption.

The company has also encouraged essential service providers to reach out to their Assembly Members or contact the Ghana Water call centre for assistance.

Customers can reach the company via the toll-free line 0800 40 000 for Telecel users, or through 0302218240, 0207385087, 0207385088, 0207385089, and 0207385090 for all other networks.

Additionally, customers may obtain updates and further information through the company’s social media channels.

Management of Ghana Water Limited has expressed apologies to affected consumers for the inconvenience caused and has requested calm and cooperation while efforts are being made to resolve the issue.
