GACL warns public against buying disputed Spintex land

The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has warned the public against buying or engaging in any land transactions involving a disputed 16-acre property on the Spintex Road in Accra.

In a public notice issued by management, GACL said the land in question is located adjacent to and opposite Action Chapel International.

According to the company, it has become aware that the property is allegedly being advertised and offered for sale by Airport Logistics Limited and McDan Shipping Company Limited, both linked to the McDan Group of Companies.

GACL explained that the ownership of the land is currently the subject of a legal dispute before the courts.

The company revealed that the High Court (Land Division) in Accra delivered judgment in its favor on May 6, 2025.

The ruling granted GACL the right to re-enter and take possession of the land.

However, the McDan Group has filed an appeal against the High Court’s decision, and the matter is now pending before the Court of Appeal for final determination.

GACL stressed that because the case is still before the courts, no individual or company has the legal authority to sell, lease, or transfer any interest in the disputed property until the legal process is completed.

The company, therefore, cautioned prospective buyers, investors, and real estate developers to stay away from any negotiations or payments relating to the land.

“Any person or entity who enters into any transaction covering these parcels of land does so at their own risk,” the notice stated.

GACL further made it clear that it would not recognize any third-party ownership or interest created during the ongoing litigation.

The company also warned that it reserves the right to take legal action to protect its assets and interests.

The notice serves as a strong warning to the public to exercise caution and verify land ownership before making any purchase or investment decisions involving the disputed Spintex Road property.
