Former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has been arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

He was picked up on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, following a raid on his private residence in Kumasi last week, and is currently in EOCO custody.

Sources say the arrest is linked to an ongoing investigation into possible breaches of public financial management rules, focusing on how state resources were handled during his time at GIHOC.

The situation is still developing.
