Asante Kotoko will be aiming to return to winning ways when they host Karela United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium today, Thursday, October 1, 2026, in a Ghana Premier League clash.
The Porcupine Warriors head into the fixture looking to recover from a disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Aduana FC last Sunday. The loss came despite Aduana playing the entire second half with 10 men.
Kotoko have managed just one victory from their opening four league matches, alongside two draws and one defeat. They will therefore be hoping to use home advantage to reignite their campaign and move up the league standings.
The Kumasi giants have a strong record against Karela on home soil, remaining unbeaten in their last six league meetings in Kumasi. That run includes three victories and three successive 1-1 draws.
Karela United, however, arrive in Kumasi with renewed confidence after beating Hearts of Oak 1-0 last Saturday. The victory was their second of the season.
The Tamale-based side have scored in all four league matches this season, but their away form remains a concern. They are without a win in their last four away league games, suffering three consecutive defeats.
