An unidentified man has been beaten to death by some community members at Tamso in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality in the Western Region.
The incident occurred after he allegedly attacked an elderly female trader with a machete.
The incident reportedly occurred around 8 pm between Tamso New Road and Ideal College, where the man is said to have confronted the woman while she was passing by with a bag.
Preliminary information suggests that the man allegedly chased the woman before attacking her with a machete, prompting some community members to step in.
The woman was later rushed to a hospital for medical treatment. Unconfirmed reports indicate that she is in critical condition.
The alleged attack reportedly provoked a violent reaction from some residents, who assaulted the unidentified man, leading to his death.
Police officers have since arrived at the scene and are working to have the deceased’s body transported to the morgue.
