Medeama SC face a difficult task against TP Mazembe as they travel to Lubumbashi for the second leg of their 2026/27 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League qualifying tie.
The Ghanaian champions must overturn a 1-0 first-leg defeat to keep their hopes of progressing to the next stage alive on Saturday, Sept 12.
Medeama arrived in Lubumbashi on Wednesday and have been preparing for the decisive encounter at the Stade TP Mazembe.
The Mauve and Yellow were left frustrated after the first leg at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa last Sunday. Medeama controlled large parts of the match and created several opportunities but failed to find the back of the net.
Their inability to take their chances proved costly late in the game.
TP Mazembe substitute Lise Ntumba Nyembo scored in the 87th minute after finishing a quick counter-attack to give the Congolese side a narrow advantage.
Medeama now know what they need to do in the return leg.
A victory by two or more goals will see the Ghanaian champions overturn the deficit and qualify for the next round. A one-goal victory will level the aggregate score and send the tie into a penalty shootout.
Any draw or defeat will see TP Mazembe advance.
