W/R: Man stabbed to death over land dispute

Residents of Achiase, a community located near Aboso in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality of the Western Region, are in disbelief following the alleged stabbing death of a man named Augustine Boah.

Boah is said to have been fatally attacked with a pair of scissors by 24-year-old Kofi Yena, also referred to as “Pogba,” after a disagreement that is believed to have arisen from a dispute regarding a piece of land in the area.

Reports indicate that tensions had been escalating between the two families after Yena allegedly cautioned the deceased’s son against passing behind their residence with his tricycle.

The situation reportedly intensified on Thursday, August 20, when the two men confronted each other over the matter, during which Yena allegedly assaulted Boah with a pair of scissors, causing injuries that were ultimately fatal.

Yena has since been apprehended and is currently in police custody as investigations are ongoing.

In the meantime, the body of Augustine Boah has been taken to the morgue of the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital, awaiting further procedures.
