Former Ghana international Andy Yiadom has joined English club AFC Wimbledon on a short-term contract as he begins a new chapter in his football career.
The 34-year-old defender has signed a five-month deal with the club, which will keep him at Wimbledon until January 2027.
Yiadom brings a wealth of experience to the club, having spent several years playing in the English football system.
He has made nearly 400 appearances in the English Football League (EFL), giving him significant experience at the professional level.
The move is expected to add experience and leadership to the Wimbledon squad as the club continues its campaign.
Yiadom, who has represented Ghana at international level, is known for his versatility, defensive ability and experience in English football. His long career in the EFL is also expected to make him an important figure in the dressing room.
The former Ghana international began his senior career in England and played for a number of clubs before establishing himself as a regular professional. His experience includes spells with Barnet, Barnsley and Reading, among others.
At international level, Yiadom earned several appearances for the Black Stars after making his Ghana debut in 2017.
He was part of Ghana’s squad at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and has remained one of the country’s experienced defenders.
The five-month agreement means Yiadom will remain with Wimbledon until January 2027, when his situation will be reviewed.
