Richard Boadu completes return to Asante Kotoko

Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of midfielder Richard Boadu, with the player reportedly agreeing to a contract that will run until June 2028.

The move marks Boadu’s return to the Ghana Premier League and a comeback to the club where he previously made his name before moving abroad.

Boadu, popularly known as “Agadas”, began his professional career with Accra-based side Astres FC before joining Medeama SC, where his performances earned him recognition as one of the promising midfielders in the domestic league.

He later moved to Asante Kotoko in 2021 and quickly became an important part of the team. During his time with the Porcupine Warriors, he helped the club win the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title. He also featured in the club’s CAF Champions League campaign.

The midfielder subsequently left Kotoko for Egyptian club Al Masry in 2022, where he continued his career outside Ghana.

His time in Egypt gave him valuable experience playing in a different football environment before his latest return to the domestic league.

Boadu is known for his strength, ball-winning ability and work rate in midfield. His return is expected to give Asante Kotoko additional options and experience as the club prepares for the new Ghana Premier League campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors have been active in strengthening their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season as they seek to challenge for major honours.
