Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been re-elected as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono East Regional Chairman after a closely fought regional election that took place on Saturday, August 15.
Abronye garnered 201 votes, defeating four other candidates to retain his leadership role within the NPP in the Bono East Region.
His victory grants him another term to guide the NPP’s regional structures and oversee its activities throughout the region.
This outcome also enables him to persist in managing the party’s organizational and political matters at the regional level.
The position of regional chairman is among the most significant roles within the NPP’s regional framework, with the chairman being instrumental in coordinating constituency executives, rallying party supporters, and supervising the execution of decisions made by the party’s leadership.
Abronye’s re-election is especially noteworthy given the political scrutiny he has faced in recent months.
In the contest for regional secretary, Kofi Ofosu Boateng triumphed by securing 187 votes. He will be part of the new regional executive team and will be tasked with aiding the administration and coordination of the party’s activities in the region.
The secretary role is also vital to the effective operation of the regional party structure, with the office responsible for administrative coordination, documentation, and communication between the regional executives and other levels of the party.
Abdul Razak Oppong also achieved success in the regional organiser contest, receiving 229 votes to become the winning candidate.
