Trevoh Chalobah completes move to Como

England defender Trevoh Chalobah has joined Italian Serie A club Como from Chelsea, bringing an end to his long association with the London club.

The 27-year-old has signed a five-year contract with Como, with reports putting the transfer fee at around €30 million, plus potential add-ons.

Chalobah, who came through Chelsea’s academy, will now begin a new chapter in Italy under manager Cesc Fàbregas. The move will also see him reunite with Fàbregas, who is leading Como as the club continues its rapid rise in Italian football.

Speaking after arriving in Como, Chalobah expressed excitement about joining what he described as an ambitious and growing project.

“I’m excited and honoured to be here in Como. It’s an ambitious and growing project, and working with Cesc Fàbregas again is really special,” he said.

The defender added that he was looking forward to using his experience to help the team, connecting with the supporters and contributing to the club’s future success.

Chalobah leaves Chelsea after a career that began in the club’s academy when he was a young boy. He progressed through the youth ranks before going on loan to clubs including Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town, Lorient and Crystal Palace.

He eventually established himself in Chelsea’s first team and made 47 appearances in all competitions during the 2025/26 season, scoring three goals and providing one assist. Overall, he made 151 senior appearances for the club.

The versatile defender is known for his physical strength, ability to play with the ball and capacity to operate in different defensive positions. He can play as a centre-back or on the right side of defence, giving Como additional options at the back.

Chalobah has also represented England at various youth levels and made his senior debut in 2025. He was part of England’s squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Three Lions finished third.

Como, meanwhile, are entering an exciting period after securing Champions League qualification for the first time in their history. Chalobah’s arrival is therefore seen as another major step in the club’s growing ambitions.
