The Bono East Regional Police Administration has temporarily closed the Kwame-Danso Police Station in the Sene West District after some irate youth attacked police officers and Judicial Service personnel.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, when police escorted a suspect to court in Kwame-Danso.
Speaking to the media in Techiman, the Bono East Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCoP) Shaibu Abubakari Sadique-Osei, said the decision to close the station was taken to ensure safety following the attack.
He described the incident as unfortunate but assured the public that calm had since been restored in the community.
DCoP Sadique-Osei stressed that effective policing requires the support of the public and appealed to residents to work with the police in fighting crime instead of attacking officers and other state officials carrying out their lawful duties.
He reaffirmed the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to protecting lives and property and maintaining law and order, while urging residents to remain peaceful and law-abiding.
The Regional Police Commander also disclosed that the Bono East Regional Police Command is working closely with the Police Headquarters in Accra to facilitate the reopening of the Kwame-Danso Police Station.
He appealed to residents to remain calm as efforts continue to restore full police services in the area.
