An Accra High Court has issued a 10-day interim injunction preventing former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, from continuing with the funeral and burial arrangements for the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
As stated by the lawyer for the Kristo Asafo Mission, Nana Kofi Safo Kantanka, this order was granted following a request made by the Mission concerning the estate of the late industrialist.
He clarified that the injunction temporarily bars Adwoa Safo from organising the funeral until the court further reviews the matter.
The conflict arises from disagreements within the Safo family regarding who possesses the legal authority to manage the funeral arrangements and to carry out Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s final wishes.
The funeral, originally set for July 30 and 31, 2026, is now postponed due to the court’s ruling.
Speaking in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report with Eyewitness News on Tuesday, July 28, Adwoa Safo asserted that the funeral will proceed as scheduled and urged her brother Kwadwo Safo Akofena not to interfere with the planned funeral.
