The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the commencement of the recruitment exercise for the 36th batch of Medical Officers and Dentists, inviting qualified professionals who have completed their housemanship and obtained verification from the Ghana Medical and Dental Council to apply for posting.
According to a public notice signed by the Director of General Administration, Frank Raji, on behalf of the Minister for Health, the online recruitment exercise will officially begin on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and close on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
“The recruitment process will commence on Wednesday 8th July, 2026 at 10:00 am,” the Ministry stated in the announcement dated July 2.
Applicants are required to submit their applications exclusively through the Ministry of Health’s online recruitment portal, where they will also be able to select their preferred district for posting.
“Qualified applicants would be required to submit their applications through its online recruitment portal,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry indicated that available vacancies exist within several public health institutions, including the Ghana Health Service (GHS), the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), the Ahmadiyya Health Service, and the Mental Health Authority.
Successful applicants will be posted to these institutions based on available vacancies and their selected preferences.
In a notable development, the Ministry also announced that medical and dental officers from the 34th and 35th batches who previously secured postings but failed to report for duty will be given another opportunity to participate in the recruitment exercise.
However, the Ministry clarified that such applicants will only be eligible for vacancies within their originally assigned regions, subject to the availability of positions.
Prospective applicants have been advised to complete their applications before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical challenges.
The Ministry further urged applicants to use only the official recruitment portal and disregard any individuals or groups claiming they can facilitate recruitment for a fee, warning that the recruitment process remains transparent and merit-based.
