The National Service Authority has released postings for a total of 18,617 nurses and midwives for the 2026/2027 service year.
The postings cover newly trained health professionals from accredited nursing and midwifery training institutions across the country who have completed their academic and professional requirements.
According to the Authority, the deployment forms part of efforts to ensure that health facilities nationwide are adequately staffed to improve healthcare delivery, especially in underserved communities.
The NSA indicated that all posted personnel are expected to log onto the official service portal to check their placements and proceed with registration and validation processes as required.
“All posted nurses and midwives are to report to their assigned health facilities and complete the necessary registration procedures within the stipulated period.”
The Authority cautioned that failure to report to assigned stations without approved permission or official redeployment would attract sanctions in line with the National Service Scheme guidelines.
It further urged all service personnel to adhere strictly to the rules governing their deployment and conduct during the service year.
“Personnel are expected to demonstrate discipline, professionalism and commitment in the discharge of their duties at all times.”
Health sector stakeholders have consistently emphasised the importance of such deployments in addressing staffing gaps and improving access to quality healthcare services, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach areas.
The Authority has also advised posted personnel to complete all registration formalities early to avoid delays in the commencement of service.
The 2026/2027 postings mark one of the largest deployments of nurses and midwives in recent years, reflecting the growing output of Ghana’s health training institutions.
