A Honda Civic saloon car suffered significant damage after it ignited at Kwamoso-Duasin in the Eastern Region on the evening of June 4, 2026.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), a distress call was received at approximately 10:40 p.m., which prompted a rapid response from personnel at the Koforidua Municipal Fire Station.
In a statement released by the Public Relations Office of the GNFS Eastern Regional Command, a seven-member firefighting team, led by Assistant Divisional Officer II (ADO II) Awuku, was sent to the location.
Upon their arrival, firefighters discovered the Honda Civic with registration number GW 2669-17 completely engulfed in flames.
The crew swiftly managed to control the fire and extinguish it within minutes, preventing it from spreading to adjacent properties.
Although the vehicle sustained extensive damage, there were no reported injuries or fatalities.
The Ghana National Fire Service has initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.
