Nsawam land agent allegedly killed by wife and stepson

A land agent from Nsawam Aduakrom, Nicholas Cheetham, has reportedly been murdered by his wife and stepson after a family dispute linked to an alleged extramarital affair.

According to reports, trouble began when Nicholas’s wife, Abigail, discovered that he had made another woman pregnant.

After the matter came to light, Nicholas reportedly admitted his wrongdoing, apologised to his wife, and sought her forgiveness.

Sources say he also tried to settle the issue by giving Abigail a plot of land and an undisclosed sum of money. Despite these efforts, reports suggest that the conflict remained unresolved.

Abigail is now accused of plotting with her son, Prince, to kill Nicholas. Prince was one of the two children Abigail had before marrying him.

Investigators also suspect the involvement of a third person who is currently on the run.

The suspects are further alleged to have targeted Nicholas’s 15-year-old son, Richmond, who was from a previous relationship.

Reports indicate that Richmond woke up after hearing unusual noises in the house. When he looked through a window to find out what was happening, he allegedly saw the suspects carrying his father’s body out of the house.

After witnessing the scene, the attackers reportedly turned on him. They are said to have broken his neck and hit him on the head with a cement block in an attempt to silence him.

Despite suffering severe injuries, Richmond reportedly managed to escape. He ran to nearby residents and told them what had happened before he succumbed to his injuries.

Residents in the community say Nicholas had played a major role in supporting Abigail’s eldest son.

They claim he financed the young man’s education and later helped him establish a printing press business.

Nicholas and Abigail also shared a four-year-old child.

Authorities are expected to continue investigations into the incident as efforts are made to apprehend the remaining suspect.
