Ghana Water Limited has announced temporary water supply interruptions in several parts of western Accra due to technical problems at the Weija Water Treatment Plant.

In a statement dated May 13, 2026, the company said the challenges at the treatment plant have affected water production and distribution, leading to low water pressure and irregular supply in a number of communities.

The affected areas include Dansoman, Mamprobi, Mataheko, Laterbiokorshie, Korle-Bu, La Paz, McCarthy Hill, Gbawe, Mallam, Tesano, Darkuman, North Kaneshie, Dome, Achimota, Anyaa, Ablekuma, and nearby communities.

Management said engineers and technical teams are working to fix the problem and restore normal water supply as quickly as possible.

Residents in the affected areas have been advised to store water whenever it becomes available to help manage the temporary disruption.

Ghana Water Limited also urged hospitals, schools, and other essential service providers in the affected communities to contact the company through its call centre or official communication channels for assistance and updates.

The company apologised for the inconvenience and appealed to customers to remain calm and cooperate while efforts continue to fully restore water production and distribution.
