The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has appointed Ing. Frank Asirifi Otchere as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 8, 2026.
A circular signed by Board Chairlady Kuukua Maurice Ankrah announced the appointment together with other key management changes.
The company also confirmed Ing. Samuel Nkansah as Deputy Chief Executive responsible for Finance and Resources.
In addition, GRIDCo appointed Ing. Samed Abdul Ibrahim, who currently serves as Director of the Project Implementation Unit, as Acting Deputy Chief Executive for Engineering and Operations.
Ing. Otchere now takes over the leadership of GRIDCo, Ghana’s state-owned electricity transmission company. The company oversees power transmission across the country and also plays a role in the West African power pool.
Management has encouraged workers to give the newly appointed executives the “necessary cooperation and support” as they begin their new responsibilities.
The latest appointments come at a time when GRIDCo is working to improve operational efficiency and strengthen the stability of the national power grid after recent difficulties in the energy sector.
The company recently faced a serious challenge after a fire broke out at the Akosombo switchyard control room. The incident disrupted parts of electricity transmission and power generation operations in several parts of the country.
